Abstrakt: The article reports the population growth in the U.S. in relation to the housing condition. In 2006, the country has a total population of 300 million from 281 million 6 years earlier. At such rate, it is said that the U.S. is taking up more living space per capita than ever. Suburbs reportedly grow faster than the main cities. A study in 2004 reveals that 40% of new homes built from 1985 to 2001 stood on lots measuring more than one acre.
