Abstrakt: The article focuses on the various efforts made by different countries to address climate change. As of early 2004, it says that the primary international inter-governmental approaches are channeled through the United Nations (UN). The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, adopted in May 1992 at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, provides the basic international framework, with a stated objective to achieve, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Convention and stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. In the U.S., the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continue to undertake a variety of informational and regulatory efforts to reduce emissions.
