Abstrakt: The article discusses the composting of poultry litter, focusing on the use of litter reconditioning and composting as a way to manage recurring disease issues within the commercial poultry industry. Two identical poultry houses from a chicken broiler farm, the article indicates, were used to conduct the study. Topics include alternative bedding practices for poultry and the various elements of litter reconditioning including composting, windrowing, pasteurization, and recycling. Also discussed is composting litter between flocks.
