Abstrakt: The article investigates the bioaccumulation of pyrene by Ceratophyllum demersum, its pyrene-induced oxidative stress, as well as elaborates on the mechanisms of the oxidative damage of pyrene. An investigation of pyrene-induced damage in Ceratophyllum demersum was carried out by determining malondialdehyde (MDA) content representing as lipid peroxidation in plant. Samples of the plants were sonicated and centrifuged and supernatants were combined. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra were obtained from the lyophilized leaf in liquid nitrogen. Glutathione, antioxidant enzymes and statistical analysis of the plant species were also obtained.
