The article discusses the botanical survey determining the ecological information of pteridophytes, its classification, geographic location and habitat preferences of pteridophytes or ferns in Hawaii. It presents the lists of pteridophytes species classification which was discovered in Hawaii those belonging to class Ophioglossales, Marattiales and Filicales. It highlights on ecological zone classification in which the distribution of particularl class of fern species are dominant such as rain-forests, lowlands middle and upper forests. Accordingly, out of the forty-four genera of pteridophytes, Asplenium, Dryopteris, Polypodium, Lycopodium, Arthyrium are most important genera and Diellia and Sadleria are becoming endemic. |
