Abstrakt: This article discusses the adjustments to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. According to the author, accelerating the phaseout of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) could have a significant impact on the predicted recovery of the ozone layer. Dutch Scientist, Guus Velders, also reported that the phase out of HCFCs could have a greater benefit on climate change and global warming than the Kyoto Protocol. The author argues that financing of alternatives through the Multilateral Fund was key in addressing the concerns of the developing countries.
