The article reports on the efforts to spur the development of renewable energy in Pennsylvania. The state's governor Edward G. Rendell is leading these efforts as he is working to build energy-production infrastructure in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, several companies have been attracted to locate their operations to Pennsylvania after knowing that the state pursues renewable energy solutions over the long term. Some of these companies include AE Polysilicon, Axion Power International Inc. and Conergy AG based in Germany, which chose the state to become the North American headquarters of Voltwerk, its financial subsidiary and the East Coast operations home of SunTechnics, it solar engineering and installation subsidiary. |
