Abstrakt: The article focuses on the 2005 National Wetland Awards which were held on May 18, 2005 at Washington D.C. The 2005 awards are given in six categories. The winners were selected by a committee of wetland experts from the business and conservation communities, federal and state governments, and nonprofit organizations. The awards are presented to seven individuals from across the country who share a dedication to protecting the nation's remaining wetlands, and working with a diverse array of organizations and interests to achieve their goals. The 2005 awards are given in six categories--Education and Outreach, Science Research, Conservation and Restoration, Landowner Stewardship, Tribal, and Local Program Development, Wetland Community Leader. The award program recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary effort, innovation, and excellence in wetland conservation, research and education. The recipient of the awards are--Martin Main, Barbara Bedford, Catherine Macdonald, Neil Bien, Tom Fot, Barth Crouch and Hazel Sinclair.
