Abstrakt: The article discusses the results of a study on the role of airway microbiome in modifying the response of the immune system to diesel exhaust. Topics mentioned include the damage of the respiratory mucosa due to the exposure to traffic-related air pollution, the association between bacterial richness in the lower respiratory tract with the level of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-7, and IL-15 in bronchoalveolar lavage, and a description of microbiome alpha diversity metrics for each participants.
