The article discusses the need for the U.S. government to address structural and legal challenges that affect plastic waste recycling and management. Topics explored include the low plastic recycling rate according to data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the strategies for reducing plastic production proposed in the plastic pollution prevention strategy drafted by the EPA, and the concerns regarding the implementation of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). |
