Abstrakt: The article discusses the need for a more active approach to biodiversity conservation in Brazil, specifically through conservation translocations. A group of Brazilian specialists met at the Salto Morato Nature Reserve in September 2023 to discuss this issue and formed a Manifest for Conservation Translocation. The Manifest recognizes the potential of conservation translocations for biodiversity conservation and highlights the outdated and inadequate wildlife management norms in Brazil. The specialists propose the adaptation of Brazilian legislation and the formulation of a National Policy on Conservation Translocations, as well as public campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of conservation translocations. The formation of the Brazilian Conservation Translocations Network is also mentioned as a way to bring together professionals involved in conservation translocations. [Extracted from the article]
