Abstrakt: The article discusses research which investigated the effect of proximity to a Superfund metal site on the health of African American and White women. The study quantified arsenic, cadmium, lead and antimony in toenail clippings of non-Hispanic African American and White women. It attributes the greater susceptibility of African American women to metal exposure to residential segregation and environmental racism.
