Investments in energy storage (batteries and hydrogen) and in carbon removal technologies are escalating, though there is uncertainty about when they will be available at a scale sufficient to make a major dent in emissions. Climate change is widely viewed as an existential threat to life on the planet. Industry Industry's CO SB 2 sb emissions are about the same as that of transportation but the pathways to reducing emissions are more complex. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), in its Sixth Assessment Report provides irrefutable evidence that we are already witnessing the effects of climate change (Boehm & Schumer, [6]).
