The article considers environmental chemical-sensing aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) as vital regulator in toxicology, citing a study which characterized the immune effects of fine particulate matter (PM) and showed that PM2.5 or indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene (IP), as an AHR ligand, modulated immune responses. It points out conflicting result of another study in which AHR ligands suppressed T follicular helper cells in influenza A-infected mice and that different AHR ligands produce different effects. |
