Abstrakt: The strain DSP-MZ6, capable of efficiently degrading chlorpyrifos was isolated from soil. DSPMZ6 was identified as Bacillus clausii based on 16S rRNA and the analysis of morphology as well as physiological and biochemical characteristics. The optimal pH value and temperature for strain DSPMZ6 to grow were 7.5 and 35°C, respectively. The degradation efficiency of chlorpyrifos (50 mg/L) by strain DSP-MZ6 could reach 71.6% in 3 days. Strain DSP-MZ6 also had a high tolerance to chlorpyrifos and could tolerate at least 800 mg/L of chlorpyrifos. In addition, strain DSP-MZ6 had been successfully developed into a biochar-based microbial agent that was easy to commercialize and could be used to treat organophosphorus pesticides residues in soil. It was believed that strain DSP-MZ6 could be used to control chlorpyrifos or some other organophosphorus pesticides pollution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
