The article examines the toxic tolerance of the gloves commonly used by most farmers in the Midwest from the exposure to the insecticides used to control crop pests, the granular terbufos. It is said that most of these pesticides are incorporated into the soil and can be easily shaken off from the fabric of the gloves and proves to be safe to use. The study aims to determine whether the glove materials differed in their performance with relation to its exposure or washing with detergent and water would reduce measurable contamination. Methods involved in the study includes three types of chemically resistant gloves. After careful examination, results suggests that both, the washed and the unwashed gloves shows a significant difference from the methods of contaminations used. |
