The article discusses the study regarding the accumulation and elimination of the Pentachlorophenol in the freshwater bivalve, Corbicula fluminea. The study has been conducted in order to investigate the responses of aquatic organisms exposed with such chemical substance. For the investigation process, the assessment of the toxicological risks regarding the introduction of such chemical into the aquatic environment has been established which requires the integration of biological effects with time and concentration in the living organisms' tissues. Based from the results gathered, it has been found that no mortality has occurred during the sublethal experiments in the control and exposed animals. |
