Abstrakt: This article presents a study whose purpose is to examine the accumulation features of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs)residues in soils around Beijing Guanting reservoir. Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) have been the major environmental issue, drawing much scientific and public attention due to their high bioaccumulation potential, persistence and high toxicities to non-target organisms. In China, most of the pesticides produced and used from the 1960s to 1980s are organochlorine pesticides organochlorine pesticides that of POPs kind. Guanting reservoir, located in the northwest of Beijing, is one of the five major water systems of Beijing. This stduy is intended to study the current status and accumulation features of soil pollution by OCPs at Guanting Reservoir area.
