Over 30 years of extensive development has eaused inevitable damage bl China's environment. Finding the optimal pa11, between environmental pollution and eeonomie growth is of outstanding importanee and urgency. This paper uses cross-sectional da1a and spatial eeonometrie models of more 11,an I 00 major cities in China in 2014. Based on the extended traditional environmental Kuznets eurve hwothesis, this study uses PM2.5 eoneentration as a proxy indieator of environmental pollution to analyze the environmental pollution spatial eorrelation, 11,e shape of the environmen1al Kuznets eurve and its influencing faetora. The results show that the urban environmental pollution in China has an obvious positive spatial eorrelation. The environmental Kuzne~ eurve simulated by the cross-sectional data shows an "inverted U shape", and the environmental Kuznets eurve hypothesis has been eonfirmed at the urban seale in China. The proportion of the seeonda,y industry, population density, ear ownerahip, ete. are positively related bl environmental pollution. The eoon:linated regional development, eontrol of urban ear ownership, and multi-city joint governance are eonduciveto 11,e i,q,rovementofurban environmental quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
