In this article, the authors offer their reflections on the past 10 years of the student intern program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Sustainability. They first outline the history of the program, which was founded upon a commitment to "honor and engage students." Next, the authors describe the three goals that drive the current program: 1.) deepening sustainability literacy, 2.) developing professional skills, and 3.) consulting with campus partners. The article concludes by recounting the lessons learned over the past decade, ones that have helped reshape and redirect the intern program. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
