Abstrakt: The article discusses the impact that the increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) has on the decrease in the nutritional content of food crops, including through increasing the risk for protein deficiency. An overview of the effect of CO2 on plants (C3 plants) that use what is referred to as C3 photosynthesis is provided.
