The article discusses a study on the implementation of the 4 per Thousand Initiative and soil carbon sequestration potential of the US croplands and grasslands. Topics include scientific interest in managing soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks in the U.S. because of its importance to soil fertility, importance of the soil-climate nexus expressed through the book "Factors of Soil Formation", and need for the addressing policy challenges to harness the potential of soils to mitigate climate change. |
