Abstrakt:	The article discusses a study conducted by the author on factors influencing natal dispersal in Belding's ground squirrels in Sierra Nevada, California and Nevada. Topics discussed include natal dispersal due to body mass or composition, insufficient food and discomfort caused by ectoparasites; dispersal more in males than females and avoidance of juveniles leading them to disperse.
