The article focuses on the rigid materials which are considered as the municipal recycling value chain's economic foundation, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles and natural high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Topics discussed include single-stream materials recovery facilities (MRFs) which are pushed hard to recycle rigid materials because of the increasing use of plastics in consumer goods, use of resins in packaging of products, and responsibility bills for product packaging. |
