The article presents a profile of former Chief Executive of British library organization the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) Bob McKee in the wake of his death in 2010. McKee's career as a librarian is traced, including his promotion to Resources Librarian at British secondary school Small Heath School in 1978 along with numerous government appointments. His skills as a negotiator are detailed, along with his ability to cut costs for CILIP and to advocate for libraries to British politicians. |
