Abstrakt: This article presents an overview of the September 1, 2005 issue of the "IFLA Journal." This issue continues with the publication of some papers from the Buenos Aires conference, held in August last year. The first of these, "Cooperative Virtual Libraries: Training Librarians and Editors Via the Internet," by Dominique Babini, Coordinator of the Network of Social Science Virtual Libraries of Latin America and the Caribbean, was originally presented in a joint session of the Management and Marketing and Public Libraries Sections of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. The paper describes how the Latin American Social Science Council organized an Internet-based distance training course for librarians and editors from Latin America and the Caribbean, and identifies factors that need to be considered in organizing such courses. The second paper, "Audiovisual and Multimedia Content in the Curriculum for Librarianship Studies at the University of Leon in Spain," is by Blanca Rodriguez Bravo, a professor in that University's Department of Library and Information Science. The paper describes the third module of the Department's course on Analysis of Document Content, dealing with the representation and retrieval of sound, visual, audiovisual and multimedia materials.
