Montessori Parents' Attitude toward Montessori Education in Taipei City and Oklahoma City

| Popis: | 107 Researcher joined the Montessori Dual Degree Program co-hosted by National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Science and Oklahoma City University after receiving a bachelor degree. Taking the advantage of growing up in Taipei City and living in Oklahoma City, the researcher had developed interest and observed the blossom of Montessori education in both cities and realized the importance of parent education in Montessori preschools. The purpose of this research was to increase understanding of the Montessori parentsʼ attitude toward Montessori education in order to provide directions and suggestions to Montessori preschools in both cities during parent-related events. Self-designed and back-translated questionnaires in Mandarin and English served as the research instruments of the current research. The questionnaires were conducted respectively in Taipei City and Oklahoma City with research participants of 116 and 105 Montessori parents. According to the result, Montessori parents from both cities had similar characteristics. Regarding the attitude toward Montessori education, a significant difference was observed at the acknowledgment subsection. Current research also provided suggestions for future parent education events to Montessori preschools in both cities in terms of acknowledgment, affection, and action in accordance with the research result. |
