A Study of the Relationship among Senior High School Teachers' Personality Traits, Team Commitment and Knowledge Sharing

Popis: | 107 The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among Teachers’ Personality Traits, Team Commitment and Knowledge Sharing, with Team Commitment as a moderator. The method of this study was survey research. Data were collected from 373 teachers of senior high school in Kaohsiung. There were 351 valid questionnaires returned, and the valid rates were 94%. The collected data was analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA,Pearson product-moment correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis etc.. Main findings can be summarized: I. Senior high school teachers of different backgrounds have partial significant differences on team commitment, personality traits amd knowledge sharing. (i) Different genders have significant differences on personality traits, but no significant differences on team commitment and knowledge sharing. (ii) Different ages, marital status and education levels have no significant differences on personality traits, team commitment, and knowledge sharing. (iii) Different divisions have partial significant differences on personality traits, team commitment and knowledge sharing. II. The higher senior high school teachers’ “extraversion”, “agreeableness”, “conscientiousness”, and “openness” are, the higher their willingness to engage in knowledge sharing. III. The higher senior high school teachers’ “neuroticism”, the lower their willingness to engage in knowledge sharing. IV. The higher senior high school teachers’ team commitment, the higher their willingness to engage in knowledge sharing. V. Team commitment has modulating effects on the relationship between senior high school teachers’ personality traits and knowledge sharing. It is hoped that the study’s findings may serve as reference basis to relevant school departments or educators in teacher psychological counseling and personnel management. The study also simultaneously recommends that pertinent education competent authorities form discussion communities or organize workshops to strengthen senior high school teachers’ team commitment, enriching their respective school organizations’ overall effectiveness. |
