The Impact of Licensing and Salary System on Job Satisfaction and Professional Perception of Home Care Workers:A Case Study of Tainan City

Popis: | 107 Care work is a highly labourr-intensive industry. From the long-term care of the 10-year plan to the long-term care 2.0 plan in 2017, the development of the home care workers has been established for more than 10 years. In order to increase home care workers’ retention rate, not only has the minimum salary of the home care workers been raised in 2018, different salary systems have also been implemented. Moreover, various related certificate programs were set up for the purpose of enhancing the professional ability of the home care workers. The aim of this study is to explore the correlation of the certificate programs, the salary system, professional perception and job satisfaction of the home care workers. A survey was conducted on the home care workers working at the Special Home Service Unit of the Tainan City Government. As a result, 468 out of the total 1,250 home care workers participated in the survey. The main findings from the study include: (1) the professional perception and job satisfaction of the home care workers are above average (2) There is no significant correlation between single type licenses and professional perception and job satisfaction (3) The number of licenses is related to professional perception and job satisfaction (4) Professional perception and job satisfaction are significantly positively correlated. |
