A Technical Planning Model of Shared Parking Spaces in a Public Parking Garage

| Popis: | 107 Parking is always a serious issue in metropolitan areas all over the world. An innovative business model to this problem is to build parking space sharing platforms. In Taiwan, the government issued two operation permits for parking space sharing platform in June 2018. This new business model for parking management is finally officially initiated in Taiwan. A research methodology similar to action research was conducted with Deming cycle. The target of this study is a residential building under construction. A technical planning model for parking space sharing platform in an indoor parking garage is proposed. This model includes temporary parking on constant monthly parking spaces and electric car parking spaces and integration with its origin smart parking management platform. This study found that in addition to the integration of smart parking management platform, billing policy, marketing information, parking garage management, community and garage safety are also key factors shell be taken into serious consideration during the study. This study is based on the past studies on smart parking and sharing parking spaces and take one further step to conduct a feasibility study on indoor parking garage. This study evaluated the feasibility on extending the sharing outdoor parking spaces to indoor garage. More unused parking spaces will be utilized. With mobile applications, consumers can easily find parking spaces. This is a win-win situation for both consumers and providers. |
