Tawanese 80’s Writers:the Writing of Taipei LIU, YI-JOU Abstract Urban literature has flourished for a while since Lin Yao-De proposed in the 1980s. However, from the 1990s to the present, the discussion of urban literature has stagnated. I found that 80’s writers still mostly regarded "urban" as the background, and even took "Taipei" as the writing theme. For example, tai bei gu shi(台北故事), mu zhi tai bei che ting wei(暮至臺北車停未), tai bei tao wang di tu(臺北逃亡地圖), and zhun tai bei ren(準台北人). In this era, urban literature has gradually declined but the urban experience has increased. Nevertheless, what kind of vision of “urban” or “Taipei” did writers have in this era? 80’s writers were born and grew up in the Post-Martial Law Era. There was a clear gap between the history and their education, thoughts, and the application of technology. Wan-Qian Chen and Chi Chi published articles to judge that writers of the new generation had no common generational features and the emergence of "pseudo-Hsiang-tu" for the submission of literature prizes. Since Ming-Ru Fan proposed the concept of “Post-Regional Literature” after observing the phenomenon of the literature of the new generation, scholars generally believed that "New Hsiang-tu" broke the traditional Hsiang-tu writing mode and showed different Hsiang-tu expressions. However, with the prevalence of "local literature", I found that 80’s writers not only regarded Taipei as the writing background but also whether changed the image of “New Hsiang-tu" or whether transformed “Taipei” from urban imagery to local emotion. Therefore, I hoped to organize urban literature to explore 80’s writers’ perspectives of Taipei while writing Taipei and consider the significance of 80’s writers keeping to write Taipei.
