The story where Mulan disguised as a man to substitute her father for the military service has been passed on for more than 1000 years in China. The Walt Disney Company from the U.S.A. even adapted the story to create two animated films, including “Mulan” and “Mulan II.” This study focuses on the intertextuality between Ballad of Mulan and Disney's Animations to investigate how Disney's Animations wield creativity to exhibit active intertextuality through the process of conversions in the story's scenarios “from female to male” and “from home to homeland.” This study contains 5 chapters, and the gist of each chapter is elaborated as follows: Chapter 1. “Introduction”: This chapter elaborates the research motivation and purpose, literature review and the research scope and methodology.
