Study of 2015 Foil Grand Prix Final Four Techniques and Tactics

| Popis: | 105 Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore the skills and tactical strategies that applied by final four fencers of 2015 Men’s Foil Grand Prix. Methods: Subjects were the final four fencers of 2015 Men’s Foil Grand Prix. Through YouTube FIE recorded game videos, all skills and tactics were documented using records observation method and then analyzed by means of SPSS. The study explored the different attacking skills, the different scoring between each round and the winning key tactics, and applied triangulation method to strengthen the reliability and validity of the data. Results: Semi-finals, finals and the mixed of semi-finals and finals rounds had the same results. 1. Attack was the main scoring strategy among all tactics and direct attack was the main skill. 2. The second most applying strategy was forward counterattack. 3. The least applying strategy was parry riposte, and the fourth and sixth parry positions scored the most. Conclusion: Results of the current study revealed that tactic changes and skill application had significant effects on hit and foil game results. Keywords: foil, fencing skill, fencing tactic |
