Popis: | 105 The role of a maze solver in finding the best route from the start cell to the goal area in modern micromouse contests becomes more and more important for a contestant to win a contest. This is because the fast improvements in microcontrollers, infrared and microelectromechanical sensors (MEMS) have made those micromouse robots run faster and faster, and diagonally. The thesis is therefore devoted to the development of a time-base diagonal maze solver, which takes into account the motion capabilities of a micrmouse in a maze. The time-based diagonal maze solver has also been successfully used in a half-size micromouse and a classic micromouse with a suction fan in international contests. Since there are slight differences between the rules in USA and Japan micromouse contests, different searching and fast run strategies are also devised in this thesis to maximize the chance of getting a prize. The overall effort has made the classic micromouse designed in this thesis win several first prizes in both USA and Japan, and also made the half-size micromouse win the fourth-place prize in Japan. |
