The Effect of Implementing Lean Production on the Tool Grinding Machine Manufacturing- A Case of P Company

Taiwan Lean Production System application it’s from Automotive industry began, and then popularize the application of machine tools, affecting the industry range far-reaching. This study is intended to take a case company as an example to explore the efficiency of the production of precision machine tools and the benefits of management. Case P company from the 5S finishing rectification to start, and to spindle room supporting the improvement of the operation procedures and methods to adjust, effectively enhance the P company information transmission, inventory for the material and lack of material operations, box design and operation process improvement, and reduce the material waiting time, to achieve lean production in the "timely management (JIT)" concept and enhance the competitiveness of the company. This study further explores the interaction and learning of Super Precision Equipment's Manufacturing Alliance (SPEMA), which consists of four companies and four machine tools. The five machinery company products respectively Surface Grinding Machine, EDM machine, Woodworking Machine, PCB drilling machine, Internal and External grinding machine. Five company through the way of foreign companies to improve the management of the process of fine management has been more than a decade of communication, members of the Union on a regular basis to process management issues to discuss the sharing and observation of the various countries to promote the production methods and improve countermeasures. This study was conducted in the observation interview to share the members of the Union A Company continued to improve the use of continuous production, will set the improvement of the total assembly time to reduce the shortened from 63 hours to 28 hours, while the case company P company in the process of improving the production process, the total assembly of cylindrical grinder models from the set target 13.5 hours down to 8.5 hours, and to improve the utilization rate of 91%.
