Because of the popularity and convenience of the smart phones for people to travel, this research has developed a lock that can be switched by the servomotor with a smartphone APP. Two kinds of program language are used to apply, which are the Arduino 1.6.11 and MIT APP Inventor2. At the Arduino part is to upload programs to Arduino Uno board from the Arduino-based software at PC. At MIT APP Inventor2 part is to scan QR code produced by MIT APP Inventor 2 to implant the APP driver into the smart phone. Then, a signal can be produced by pressing the designed APP indicator of the smart phone. The signal is sent through the Bluetooth mapping to the Arduino circuit board and to control the servomotor-driven mechanism. The device can switch the lock of the door. The rotation angle of the servomotor can be setup at different positions to adapt the different length of locks. At time consuming aspect, taking the keys, picking the right key and switching the lock take about 10 to 12 seconds. It could be longer. By using this mechanism, it only takes up to 5 seconds. Furthermore, the smart phone can start to operate the mechanism two meters away from the lock. So, the smart phone APP is faster and easier to use.
