A Study on Current Situation and Relationship between Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Administrative Staff at Junior High Schools in New Taipei City

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction of the administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City. The researcher investigated the current situation of administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City regarding their job stress and satisfaction, and compared the differences in job stress and satisfaction of the staff by taking background variables into account, as well as analyzed the correlation between their job stress and job satisfaction. A questionnaire survey was adopted for this study of which focused on the administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City. A total of 516 questionnaires were delivered and 439 valid questionnaires were received. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test scores, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation. And the results are as follows: (1) The overall job stress of administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City is at the middle level. (2) The overall job satisfaction of administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City is at the middle-high level. (3) For the administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City, different background variables have different levels of impact on their job stress and job satisfaction. (4) The results of empirical tests suggest that the job stress of administrative staff at junior high schools in New Taipei City negatively relates to their job satisfaction. Finally, based on the findings, this study provided some suggestions for educational institutes, junior high schools, and administrative staff at schools as references, and future studies for researchers.
