A User Experience Study of Android and iOS Interface Design on The Smartphone

| Popis: | 104 Recently, smartphone features become diversity due to technology growth, it makes market demand increase quickly. Android and iOS are currently major development platform and both focus on user experience. iOS provide a clear and simple interface， Android provide a bold and distinctive lively interface. Currently, most studies of smartphone interface are focused on usability but rarely study on the influence of design guideline and user emotion by transform smartphone interface. This study aim to compare the smartphone interface design principles，then explore the emotional factors of user and provide suggestions for smartphone interface improvement. This study analysis Android and iOS smartphone design guideline for comparing the design criteria and component usage rules, and explore the task for experiment. The participants operate smartphone to complete task while observers watch and take notes. SUS is used to measure ubability subjective measurement. PAD is measure emotion scale subjective measurement. All data are assessment factors. The findings of this study are as below. (1) The good experience of smanrtphone operating modes: point and click of delete， tab bar text with graphic， different set of selectable values clock pickers， calendar month-oriented design， realistic style keyboard design， card design. (2) User experience as the main psychological impact on the overall emotion. (3) Comparison with SUS and PAD assessment analysis， iOS interface design include overall of usability and emotional is better. Interface consistency revised to provide continuity of experience. (4) User emotionally is affected by the operational mode and usability， not affected by colors style of interface. The result also provide smartphone interface design recommendation as follows: (1) Intuitive and simple operations. (2) Graphic design features clear and unambiguous items. (3) Extend the life experience to user interface design. (4) Interface design need consistent behavior. (5) Enhance usability can improve mental merriness for user. (6) Continuity of interface design experience. |
