Popis: | 104 Since the Wi-Fi option had become a must-have in smart phones, the applications of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) have been massively created. The fast evolution of the Wi-Fi performances complicates the device tests. At present, the conductive test is widely used in the industry while evaluating the WLAN products, however, this actually fails for obtaining the objective results. In contrast, the Over-the-Air (OTA) test method provides the optimal way to evaluate the performance of WLAN devices by having the tester and device communicated wirelessly along with the dedicated channel configurations used, such that to emulate the real performance of devices under real channel conditions in a chamber. Currently, the cost of channel emulator is a bottleneck while developing the OTA testing system, and therefore now few players dominates the entire OTA testing market. In sight of this, in this thesis we disrupt the dominance by proposing a Software Defined Radio (SDR) based channel emulator along with IEEE TGn channel as the replacement of traditional channel emulators. With the NI LabVIEW as programming language, we develop the 802.11p physical layer function on one NI USRP 2921R SDR as the Device Under Test (DUT), and then we successfully conduct OTA tests for this DUT by developing the IEEE TGN channel emulation function on another NI USRP 2921R SDR. With the nature of OTA testing, the interference outside the chamber is isolated such that the BER and RSSI can be accurately measured. The use of SDR is a cost-effective solution while developing OTA testing systems, and the proposed SDR based channel emulator will be upgraded with more channel model. |
