Small-size antenna design and develop for wireless local area network application

This thesis proposes four antenna designs applied for Blue Tooth(BT) or Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) system. First design is a dipole antenna for cable modem;second design is a WLAN USB dongle, Third design is a MIMO antenna application for 2.4GHz, final case is a design of WLAN 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz band MIMO antenna. First design for applications in BT and WLAN devices is dipole antenna : the dipole antenna is applied in wireless cable modem at 2.4-2.5 GHz. By changing the polarization of the design, the design have a characteristic of less interference to another antennas. The vertical polarization of the design is changed into horizontal polarization in limited space. Second design is a USB dongle antenna for WLAN applications, and the design is for 2.4 -2.484 GHz、5.15 – 5.35 GHz and 5.725 – 5.825 GHz. The design using couple feed to ground path produces the bandwidth at the low band, and direct feed path of the design generates the bandwidth at high band. Third design is a design of MIMO antenna operating at WLAN 2.4 – 2.484 GHz. The antenna using two direct-fed monopole structure resonances the bandwidth at 2.4 GHz. The design with a neutral line reduces the isolation. In final case, a design of MIMO antenna applied in WLAN2.4/5.2/5.8GHz bands. The design uses two simple C-shaped paths to achieve low and high frequency resonance. The design with neutral line and a ground strip achieves a good isolation performance.
