A Study of the Relationship among Personality Traits, Administrational Ethics ,and Job Involvement in Executive Teachers of Kaohsiung Junior High School

Popis: | 104 To discover how the personality traits, administrational ethics and job involvement affects junior high school teachers in Kaohsiung City who also perform administrative duties (referred as administrative teachers) is the aim of this study. What the study revealed are as following : (1) To find out the real situation of administrative teachers affected by different personality traits、administrational ethics and job involvement. (2) To discover the distinctions between varied variables of junior high school administrative teachers in Kaohsiung City. (3) To identify the relevance between two background variables. (4) To identify the differences, based on the variable of job involvement, of administrative teachers who are classified into three groups according to their personality traits, and administrational ethics. (5) To predict administrative teachers’ job involvement based on personality traits and administrational ethics. (6) According to the result of this research, this study is to provide specific suggestions for the upper educational administration or the school managers to promote the educational policies. This study was conducted via questionnaire survey, which was divided into four sections: basic information, personality traits inventory, administrational ethics inventory, and job involvement inventory of administrative teachers in junior high school in the academic year from 1st August 2014 to 31st July 2015. Via stratified sampling, the sample sizes were determined by school sizes among forty-nine junior high schools. Six hundred and fourteen questionnaires were given out and four hundren and eighty-five valid questionnaires were returned (eighty-eight percents returning rates). Methods like descriptive statistics, independent-samples t test, one way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient(PPMCC), and Multiple Regression Analysis were applied, and the results of the study are as following: (1) Administrative teachers’ personality traits tend to be positive and most of them are in the dimensionof agreeableness. (2) Scores on “administrational ethics” of administrative teachers are above average and among this section the “ethics of justice” is the highest. (3) Scores on “job involvement” of administrative teachers are above average and “organizational commitment and delight in work” are the highest in this section. (4) In the section of personality traits, various background variables, like genders, marital status, educational level, and years of service, are of significant differences. (5) In the section of administrational ethics, various background variables like teahchers with differenct job duties are of significant difference. (6) In the section of job involvement, various background variables like age, marital status, job duties,and years of service are re of significant differences. (7) Administrative teachers’ personality traits, administrational ethics, and job involvement are of significantly positive correlated with each others. (8) Personality traits and administrational ethics in three groups of Administrative teachers are of significantly positive correlated with job involvement. (9) Administrative teachers’ personality traits and administrational ethics, are of predictive power in the section of job involvement.
