On the International Linkage of Financial Cycles: A Composite Index Approach

In recent years, global financial situation is still in the recovery period after the shock. When countries are dealing with economic crisis and financial crisis, they continue to optimize capital market and real estate market, to promote the innovation of financial system, to promote that financial liberalization and financial globalization become more obvious, and to promote the connections among global financial systems much closer. In that context, as an important member of global economic system, the relevance between Taiwan and financial industries of countries is becoming stronger, which makes a correct prediction on the development trend of financial industry in Taiwan, establishes beneficial financial policy to the development of industry. Thus, it is necessary to conduct research on the multinational financial interaction of financial industries. Based on this, this research takes major economies as research objects, selects the countries which have more votes in International Monetary Fund and World Bank, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, Canada, North Korea and etc. As for the mutual influence of financial prosperity among these countries, this research utilizes OECD comprehensive index method to establish financial prosperity index of countries, and then attempts to figure out the main states of international interaction of financial prosperity through rigorous econometric analysis. The empirical results of Granger’s causality points out:Under the structure of controlling financial index in other countries, the United States, United Kingdom and Canada have a significant bidirectional association, France has one-way interaction on China, China and France have one-way interaction on Canada and North Canada and China have one-way interaction on North Korea.
