Since the energy demand has been rapidly increasing in recent years, the management toward distributed energy resources (DERs) is more and more important. The aim of this thesis is to develop a communication and control interface so as to achieve remote control and to monitor DERs. The developed system constructs data transmission between distributed energy resources (DER-EMS) and DER. The DER-EMS combines a supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) to receive data from DERs and electrical loads. After figuring out the optimal distribution method based on the power generation cost and market tariff, DER-EMS will determines commands and control a local power distributed system through SCADA. As a result, the output power of a DERs can be adjusted to improve overall stability and reliability. Finally, the developed communication and control interface is tested with a 250 kW energy storage system for validating and demonstrating.
