Since the influence of card game cartoons on TV, many children are fascinated with card games. While getting into card games, children play with their friends face to face. It is very different from the electronic games in which children deal with machines and it can strengthen the interpersonal interaction and reduce the estrangement of the interpersonal relationship. The former researches on card games mostly focus on how to improve the quality of teaching. However, this study tries to discuss the relationships among social skill, continuous involvement, and behavioral intention. The research objects were the intermediate and higher grade level of elementary school students who participating the card games. By using judgmental and stratified sampling, choose four elementary schools. Total 386 questionnaires were issued in this study. The statistic software SPSS 12.0 was applied for data analyses. The statistical methods included descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study were summarized as follows. The girls, first-born children, with parents and studying in a small-sized school have better social skills. The boys in intermediate grade level, studying in a middle-sized continuous involve the card games are more obviously. The children who are studying in a middle-sized school and grow up in the family with many children have more obvious behavioral intention. Social skills and continuous involvement can apparently predict children’s behavioral intention. Meanwhile, the self-expression of continuous involvement dimension has the best prediction. According to the data, card game can upgrade children’s social skill. Finally, hoping the results of this study can assist parents, education department, and the organizations which promote the card games to plan children’s leisure activities and design teaching programs.
