Study on the Optimum Parameters of Flat Spring Used in Snapping Structure for Stylus

This study is to discuss the best design factor combination of the insert and pulling force of a flat spring compressed by a lateral force of the high-speed-steel SKH51. This study used the FEM method to simulate an original model and attained the insert and pulling force. Then, an experimental was practiced to evident the correctness of the FEM simulation. Ths study using the Taguchi method and set up the target of insert force is 3.92N (0.4kgf), and pulling force is 7.84N (0.8kgf). And the control factors are A(material), B(fulcrum distance), C(righ-side distance), D(left-side distance), E(head distance), F(width), G(thickness), H(arc). Therefore, the each main factor of insert and pulling force were available. To verify the Taguchi method, ANOVA was performed to evident the main factor of each force. Finally, the Grey Relational Analysis was used to find out the best design combiantion. The final result shows that the factor G is the main factor, the best design combination is A1B3C1D2E2F1G2H3. Each best factor of material is BeCu C17200 1/2HT, fulcrum distance is 17.2mm, righ-side distance is 2.48mm, left-side distance is 4.25mm, head distance is 0.67mm, width is 2.2mm, thickness is 0.2mm and arc is 6.8mm.
