The Export Demand Forecast of a Freight Forwarders through Mini-Three-Link: A Case Study of P Company

Popis:	102 Due to the continued growth in cross-strait economic cooperation and the openings of a Mini-Three-Links and direct transportation between Taiwan and China, the needs to send goods to Chain from Taiwan is growing up. In order to make the cargo operation more efficient, to forecast the cargo demands more precisely is playing the rule. Thus, forwarders can plan more accurately the requirements of tucks, containers, vehicle routing and scheduling, workforce, and facility in advance. In this research, a year historic data provided by the P Company was used to predict its weekly cargo demands. The simple Linear Regression combining Moving Average methods were applied to the forecasting model. The results are compared to the outputs from a back-propagation Artificial Neon Network forecast model. The Study shows the outputs from ANN outages the ones from Regression method.
