A Study of the relationships among junior high school teachers' professional commitment, teaching reflection and teaching efficiency

The purposes of this study were to explore the relationships among junior high school teachers’ professional commitment, teaching reflection and teaching efficiency in natural seience and life techniqae domain. Samples were 292 junior high school teachers selected from Taichung City, Changhua County and Nantou County. Questionnaire was applied to collect data. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study were as follows: first, the current situation of teachers’ professional commitment was medium-high level. Second, the current situation of teaching reflection was medium-high level. Third, the current situation of teaching efficiency was medium-high level. Fourth, teachers’ perception of professional ethics, industry tend to stay, and professional commitment were significant different in educational background. Fifth, teachers’ perception of environment and learning was significantly different in position. Sixth, teachers’ perception of all levels of teaching efficiency were significant different in educational background. Seventh, there was high positive correlation between teachers’ professional commitment and teaching efficiency. Eighth, there was high positive correlation between teaching reflection and teaching efficiency. Ninth, there was high positive correlation between teachers’ professional commitment and teaching reflection. Tenth, the professional involvement, professional ethics and industry tend to stay could predict teaching efficiency. Eleventh, the teaching, classroom management, policy and institutional, and learning could predict teaching efficiency. Based on the findings of this study, the study proposed some suggestions for educational authorities, schools, teachers, and the references for future studies.
