An automatic and multi-functional noodle cooking machine was developed in this study. The single chip micro controller of Microchip PIC18F4520 was used to be the system controller. The study mainly devoted to develop noodle cooking process. Other types of food could be cooked in the future after adjust some parameters of time and operation. The system is divided into two parts: the first part is a cooking cage lift mechanism driven by screw which is used to sink into and take out the food. During the process of lifting, the cam mechanism can rotate the cage and pour the noodles into the slideway, completing the cooking process. The second part is the soup heating. Put the frozen soup block into the bowl, send the bowl to the board by tray, and add quantitative hot water to the bowl which is heated by steam tube. After heating, combine the soup with noodles, then the whole cooking process is finished. The aim of this paper is to use single chip to control the driving of mechanism and receive the signal from the sensor, which can control the heating and time conditions. This system can change the heating time for improving the function of cooking.
