Popis: | 100 The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the music structure and interpretation of TWV 40:2, TWV 40:3, TWV 40:11 from Twelve Fantasias for Solo Flute by Georg Phillipp Telemann. Twelve Fantasias for Solo Flute was composed between 1732- 1735. Telemann’s music style blends the materials from many countries in Europe, and the melodies of his works are lively, elegant, and concise, which make his works to have the liberal sense without losing the refined touch from Baroque Era. Chapter one will generalize the background and the reference of Twelve Fantasias for Solo Flute. Chapter two will discuss the style and characteristic in art and music, and the general development of flute in Baroque Period. Chapter three will focus on introducing Telemann’s life and his works, and his influence to following generations. Chapter four will analyze the evolution of fantasia’s history and the three pieces- TWV 40:2, TWV 40:3, TWV 40:11 from the Twelve Fantasias. Chapter five will probe into the interpretation of these three fantasias. The final chapter is the conclusion.
