Popis: | 100 The flexibility and efficiency characteristics of the Taiwan's small-medium enterprises(SMEs)are viewed as the major part of influence to create Taiwan's economic miracle. Most of the Taiwan’s SMEs are owned by founder's family. Such enterprises are operate to success by founder's charisma and judgment. External professional managers maybe recruit when the enterprises grow its scale of operations. In this case story, the company was founded in 1976, and is a typical Taiwanese family owned small-medium enterprise. In her early years of operations, all management and decisions are made by the hard-working founder himself. But in 2007, after founder's sudden death, none of his children has capability to succeed in the management tasks. Meanwhile, Printed Circuit Board(PCB)industry encounter serious changes that many manufacturers move their operation to China. After several year's loss, the company first introduce professional managers from outside of founder's family. I use Harvard Business School case study method to discuss the case scenario: ” the challenges in transforming family business into public enterprise”. After 3 years since introduce professional managers, the company still not back to profitable track. In spite of the insufficiency of the company's basics, major reasons also include prosperity vibration, environment transformation, industry over matured, and low barrier to competition of products. This study includes two parts, case scenario and instructor teaching note. Readers are expected to understand how difficult in running an enterprise and how to solve the issues step by step. The objective of this study is presenting a working model of mindset and best practice in how to "find issues, find solutions and execution". So that managers can used to solve problems and / or discover new opportunity, in addition, to lead the company in proceeding and adapting changes now and in future. |
